Job summary

BSA Outpatient Therapy Services in Amarillo, TX, seeks a day shift, full-time Occupational Therapist to join its outpatient rehabilitation team. You will assess, plan, and deliver therapy to patients across the lifespan, helping them regain independence in daily activities and work tasks.

The role requires NBCOT certification, state OT licensure, and a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy; BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • NBCOT certification required.
  • State licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and provide rehabilitative and therapeutic services to patients of all ages, focusing on independence in daily living and work activities.
  • Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities using standardized assessments and clinical observation.
  • Identify barriers to performing ADLs and establish therapy goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques, exercises, and interventions to enhance functional abilities.
  • Educate patients and families on therapeutic strategies to improve function and maintain progress at home.
  • Provide guidance on adapting home and work environments to meet patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Communicate progress and recommendations to physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, speech therapists, educators, and healthcare providers.
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to coordinate patient care and ensure services comply with professional standards.

  • BSA Outpatient Therapy Services is a rehabilitation facility for patients recovering from major illness or injury outside of a hospital setting. We offer various rehabilitation services, including aquatic therapy, lymphedema therapy, diabetes education, Occupational Therapy, Pediatric Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and the area's only certified Cardiac Rehabilitation program.
Responsibilities
  • The Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, and provide rehabilitative and therapeutic services to patients of all ages, focusing on helping individuals achieve greater independence in daily living and work activities, enhancing their overall quality of life.

  • Communicate progress and recommendations to physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • State licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements
  • Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience in acute care rehabilitation.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapy practices.
