Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent education/experience.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in New York State, required.
• Current limited permit to practice as an Occupational Therapist in New York State for outpatient settings, required.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred; 1-3 years required.
• Specialized certifications may be required depending on the role.

Responsibilities

• Set per diem rate and administer direct patient care per physician's prescription.
• Develop and implement treatment plans to improve upper-extremity function.
• Submit documentation per department policies and procedures.
• Use evaluation techniques to set realistic goals and plan treatments.
• Remediate patient deficits to maximize daily functioning.
• Arrange and instruct on Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and discharge planning.
• Participate in quality improvement chart reviews.
• Treat patients with acute or developmental disabilities using kinetic and perceptual methods.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in daily living skills to promote independence.
