Job summary

Trinity Healthcare Talent Services is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist for a skilled nursing facility in Topeka, Kansas. The role focuses on helping residents regain and maintain functional independence through therapeutic activities and collaborative care.

You will evaluate, plan, implement, and document treatment, coordinate with an interdisciplinary team, educate residents and families, and ensure compliance with federal/state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Occupational Therapist license in Kansas.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility or related setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations and ongoing assessments to determine residents' functional abilities and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and goals set by the resident and their healthcare team.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, exercises, and activities to help residents improve functional abilities and achieve goals.
• Monitor and document residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
• Educate residents and families on adaptive techniques and equipment to promote independence and safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all treatment sessions and progress reports.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to resident care plans.
• Comply with all federal, state, and facility regulations and guidelines.
