Job summary

Talented Medicals Solution in Tucson, AZ invites a compassionate Occupational Therapist to evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans aimed at restoring functional independence and quality of life. You will provide evidence-based interventions across care settings, educate patients and caregivers, and maintain compliant clinical documentation.

Requirements include an OT degree from an accredited program, an active OT license in the state, and BLS if required.

Qualifications

• OT degree from an accredited program (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate).
• Current OT license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification if required by the facility.
• Previous OT experience preferred.
• Experience in outpatient, inpatient, acute care, rehabilitation, SNF, home health, pediatrics, geriatrics, or school-based therapy may be preferred.
• Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, geriatric, or medically complex patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, sensory, developmental and functional abilities.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders, patient goals and clinical findings.
• Implement evidence-based OT interventions to improve ADLs, IADLs, mobility, upper extremity function, coordination, cognition and sensory integration.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home exercises, adaptive equipment and discharge recommendations.
• Recommend, fabricate or train patients in adaptive equipment, splints, braces and assistive devices as appropriate.
• Monitor patient progress, reassess functional status, modify plans as needed and document outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, PTs, SLPs, nursing, case managers, educators and other team members to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and comply with HIPAA and facility policies.
• Participate in discharge planning, patient education, quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Supervise COTAs, rehab aides, students or support personnel when applicable and per state regulations.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
