Job summary

Cooney Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Helena, MT, seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate residents, plan and implement therapy to improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence.

You will supervise COTAs, coordinate with physicians and families, provide staff training, and ensure accurate documentation in medical records, following state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state.
• Active state licensure with ongoing continuing education.
• CPR certification, if required by licensure.
• Preference for graduates of Masters/Doctorate OT programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine OT needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans to improve mobility and independence.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) and aides.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on goals, home exercise programs, and safety.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with facility and payer requirements.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences, Rehabilitation meetings, and in-services for staff.
