Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from an ACOTE program with clinical rotations completed.
• Must hold an MD license (or eligibility) in Occupational Therapy.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is preferred but not required.
• Occupational Therapist pursuing CHT specialization if not currently a CHT.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive goal-directed patient treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
• Evaluates assigned patients and establishes appropriate treatment goals, objectives, and programs.
• Provides education to the patient, family and supportive personnel for in-hospital care and to assure safe discharge.
• Completes medical record documentation in clear, concise, accurate and timely manner in compliance with department, state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
• Completes hospital billing in compliance with department, state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
• Coordinates patient care with colleagues within the department and in other departments.
• Float between locations.
