Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare - Berkeley Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, develop plans, and coordinate care across inpatient, outpatient, pediatrics, and off-site locations. The role includes supervisory duties, equipment design, and family education.

Licensed OT in the current state and BLS are required. Two years of experience preferred; travel may be involved up to a limited extent in off-site locations. Competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT in the state of current practice.
• BLS certification or willing to obtain within 30 days (where required).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an equivalent setting.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician referral, patient condition and medical history to determine OT needs.
• Performs and documents evaluation, re-evaluation and develops treatment and discharge plans.
• Administers medically prescribed OT treatments to patients.
• Designs equipment for adaptation of work and living environments.
• Plans programs for activities of daily living and functional skills.
• Monitors progress and adjusts goals; participates in care conferences as needed.
• Educates patients and families for home treatment continuation.
• Manages patient cases and coordinates care with the treatment team.
• Precepts in the direction and evaluation of clinical students; supervises staff and volunteers.
• Maintains productivity while ensuring quality care and ongoing staff education.
