Job summary

West Roxbury Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) to join its in-house rehab team in the Boston area. The role supports planning, developing, and directing OT services for residents in a skilled nursing setting.

The position requires a current state license (or eligibility) and an accredited OT degree. The team emphasizes quality care and collaborative practice within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active state license or license eligible for Occupational Therapy.
• Bachelor/Master/Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct Occupational Therapy services in accordance with current regulations and guidelines for the skilled nursing facility.
• Maintains and completes accurate documentation, department records and reports.
• Ensures effective communication regarding Occupational Therapy programs.
• Initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with OT Department procedures.
• Conducts screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
• Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to residents, family and other team members.

Education

Location of position

Occupational Therapists are primarily responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing Occupational Therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal and state standards, guidelines and regulations. To ensure the highest quality of resident care can be maintained, Occupational Therapists must be able to evaluate a patient's condition and devise a customized rehabilitation and treatment plan. The Occupational Therapist's goal is to develop, maintain and restore maximum functional ability and independence in order to maximize quality of life.

Education, Experience, and Licensure/Certifications
