Job summary

Care Village at Mattapan is seeking an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) to join our in-house rehab team in Boston. The role centers on planning, developing, and directing OT services to maximize residents' functional independence and overall quality of life.

The position may be full-time, part-time, or PRN, with duties including evaluation, treatment planning, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the care team to deliver high-quality, compliant care in a licensed facility.

Qualifications

• Active state license or license eligible in OT.
• Bachelor/Master/Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Ability to develop customized rehabilitation plans.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and direct OT services per regulations for skilled nursing care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and department records.
• Ensure effective communication regarding OT programs with residents and the team.
• Initiate referrals as appropriate per department procedures.
• Conduct periodic screenings to determine intervention needs.
• Interpret evaluation findings to residents and families and the care team.

Occupational Therapists are primarily responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing Occupational Therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal and state standards, guidelines and regulations. To ensure the highest quality of resident care can be maintained, Occupational Therapists must be able to evaluate a patient's condition and devise a customized rehabilitation and treatment plan. The Occupational Therapist's goal is to develop, maintain and restore maximum functional ability and independence in order to maximize quality of life.

Education, Experience, and Licensure/Certifications

Must have an active state license or license eligible and meet the educational requirements as defined in the job description for that license type. Bachelor of Science, Master of Science or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
