Job summary

Bear Mountain Healthcare seeks a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) for a regional float position serving Andover, Reading and Lowell, MA. The OT will plan, develop, and direct therapy services, ensuring care meets current federal and state standards while maximizing resident independence.

The role requires evaluating patients, creating customized rehabilitation plans, and maintaining accurate documentation as part of an in-house rehab team to deliver high‑quality care.

Qualifications

• Active state license or license eligible in Occupational Therapy.
• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct Occupational Therapy services and programs in accordance with current regulations in the skilled nursing facility.
• Maintains and completes accurate documentation, department records and reports.
• Ensures effective communication regarding Occupational Therapy programs.
• Initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with OT Department procedures.
• Conducts screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
• Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to residents, family and other team members.

This is a float position with hours at Bear Mountain at Andover, Bear Mountain at Reading and Belvidere Healthcare Center. Occupational Therapists are primarily responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing Occupational Therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal and state standards, guidelines, and regulations. To ensure the highest quality of resident care can be maintained. Occupational Therapists must be able to evaluate a patient’s condition and devise a customized rehabilitation and treatment plan. The Occupational Therapist’s goal is to develop, maintain and restore maximum functional ability and independence in order to maximize quality of life.
