Job summary

Methodist Hospital Texsan, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a PRN Acute Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated team in San Antonio. You will evaluate patients, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands-on therapy to promote independence and recovery.

Work with physicians and an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions and ensure quality outcomes. You will collaborate closely with therapy staff, educating patients and families, and guiding assistants and students

Qualifications

• Must hold a Texas OT license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• BLS certification required or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans.
• Deliver skilled, evidence‑based OT interventions.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families to support understanding and engagement.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Provide leadership to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA values.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Your role will include:

• Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
• Occupational Therapy License issued by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
• Prefer one or more years of experience in Acute Occupational Therapy Setting
• BLS Certification
