Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Methodist Hospital Texsan seeks an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence after illness or injury. You will evaluate needs, develop individualized therapy plans, and deliver hands-on, evidence-based interventions as part of an interdisciplinary care team.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Texas OT license, BLS, and 1+ year acute OT experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners license required.
• 1+ year experience in Acute Occupational Therapy Setting preferred.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
• Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life.
• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
• Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding the hospital’s mission and commitment to excellence.
