Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Occupational Therapist PRN to join a collaborative care team in Corpus Christi, TX. You will provide patient-centered, evidence-based therapy and contribute to positive outcomes.

You will work with physicians and therapists to evaluate needs, create plans, and document progress while upholding HCA's standards and commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Texas OT license and have active BCLS within 30 days after start.
• Bachelor’s degree in OT is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of rehab experience; weekend shifts required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized therapy plans with physicians and care team.
• Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions to promote healing and independence.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans, and document outcomes thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families to build understanding and engagement in recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure safe transitions of care.
• Provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold mission and values.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team, you will evaluate needs, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands‑on treatment that supports recovery through every stage of healing. Your role will include:

• Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.

• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.

• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• A minimum of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited OT program is required, Masters degree preferred
• Licensed (OT) Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas is required
• A minimum of 1-2 years working in a rehab setting required
• Must be able to pick up a minimum of 2 weekends shifts per month, to include occasional holidays
