Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN is seeking an Inpatient Occupational Therapist for PRN weekend coverage. You’ll be part of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Services team, evaluating patients, designing treatment plans, and delivering skilled therapy to promote independence and safe discharge.

This role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other therapists, documentation, education for patients and families, and participation in hospital initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Certified Occupational Therapist in the State of Indiana.
• Current CPR certification.
• Previous clinical experience preferred.
• New graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions to promote functional independence.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow therapists to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and home programs.
• Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and hospital initiatives.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
