Job summary

Franciscan Health Michigan City Campus in Michigan City, IN seeks an Occupational Therapist I to evaluate and treat patients, guide OTA and aides, and implement plans of care under hospital policies. You will document thoroughly and participate in quality improvement while mentoring teammates.

The role offers mentorship, shift differentials, and a 1:1 therapist/patient focus with opportunities to work at multiple therapy locations within Franciscan Health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Must have a valid license or temporary permit for the applicable state (Indiana).
• OT eligibility for experienced or new graduates.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients within legal and hospital guidelines and policies.
• Instruct and direct Occupational Therapist Assistants and aides as assigned.
• Evaluate and implement the plan of care to improve daily living and functional mobility.
• Complete documentation and support quality improvement initiatives.

The Occupational Therapist I provides evaluation and treatment of the patient within the parameters of legal and professional guidelines and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The position instructs and directs Occupational Therapist Assistant and aides as assigned. The Occupational Therapist evaluates and implements the plan of care to improve, restore, and enhance performance in activities of daily living and functional mobility. This position performs documentation and quality improvement as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited program is required
