Job summary

Franciscan Health Michigan City Campus seeks an Occupational Therapist I to evaluate and treat patients within legal and departmental guidelines. You will guide OTAs and aides, implement plans of care to improve daily living and mobility, and ensure documentation and quality improvement follow departmental policies.

The role supports acute inpatient settings with potential part-time hours and opportunities for new graduates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited program is required.
• Must have a valid license or temporary permit for the applicable state.
• Experienced and new graduate Occupational Therapist eligible.
• Adapt and respond quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability and willingness to work in team environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and implement plans of care to improve daily living activities and functional mobility.
• Instruct and direct Occupational Therapist Assistant and aides as assigned.
• Document care and participate in quality improvement as outlined by policies and procedures.

The Occupational Therapist I provides evaluation and treatment of the patient within the parameters of legal and professional guidelines and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The position instructs and directs Occupational Therapist Assistant and aides as assigned. The Occupational Therapist evaluates and implements the plan of care to improve, restore, and enhance performance in activities of daily living and functional mobility. This position performs documentation and quality improvement as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
