Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN is seeking an Inpatient Occupational Therapist for PRN weekend and weekday coverage. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapies to promote independence within a collaborative inpatient rehabilitation setting.

The role supports physicians, nurses, and other therapists, with emphasis on education for patients and families, documentation, and participation in hospital initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Certified Occupational Therapist in the State of Indiana
• Current CPR certification
• New graduates welcome

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions to promote functional independence.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow therapists to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and home programs.
• Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and hospital initiatives.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

As an Inpatient Occupational Therapist, you’ll be a key contributor to a multidisciplinary team, helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. From evaluation to discharge planning, your expertise will support recovery and enhance the hospital experience.
