Job summary

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join the team on a flexible-hours basis at our Lynchburg, VA facility. The role involves evaluating residents, creating and adjusting treatment plans, and ensuring safe, independent function in daily activities.

The position requires an OT degree from an accredited program, active state license, and NBCOT certification, along with knowledge of policy and clinical programs.

Qualifications

• Active state OT license.
• Working knowledge of Functional Pathways policies and clinical programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents per MD order and establish treatment plans and goals.
• Re-assess patients and adjust services based on progress.
• Provide discharge planning to maximize independence.
• Identify equipment needs and order equipment per policy.
• Maintain documentation per guidelines.
• Coordinate in-services for staff to ensure safe carry over of programs.
• Attend Continuing Education courses.
• Maintain professionalism and comply with regulations.

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join our team!

PRN position available with ability for flexible hours.

• Evaluate residents per MD order and establish appropriate Treatment Plans and Goals that meet the specific needs of the individual.
• Re-assess patients and caseload as needed in order to determine need for continued services or discontinuation of services based on patient progress. Carry out treatment plan as indicated.
• Provide thorough discharge planning that will allow the patient to function at a maximal level of independence in the least restrictive environment.
• Identify equipment needs of Occupational Therapy Dept. and order equipment according to company and facility policy.
• Complete all required documentation according to guidelines specified in Documentation Manual.
• Coordinate in-services for facility staff as need is determined, to ensure safe and effective carry over of Maintenance/Restorative Programs and overall call of the residents.
• Attend Continuing Education courses specific to current position.
• Maintain professionalism and follow all national/state associations regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Must have a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Must possess a current certification from NBCOT
• Active state license required.
• Possess current working knowledge of Functional Pathways policies and procedures, clinical programs with application skills to therapy disciplines.
