Vierra Falls Church Rehab & Nursing, a Vierra Communities property, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in Falls Church, VA. The role includes direct patient care, treatment planning, and patient/family education in a supportive, patient‑centered environment.

The position supports FT, PT & PRN schedules with a focus on geriatric care; we value empathy, collaboration with physicians and staff, and commitment to high-quality care. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care preferred.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have patience, empathy and compassion.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to assess medical condition, functional abilities and rehabilitation potential.
• Administer a treatment program with goals per patient capacity and tolerance under physician direction.
• Document and track patient status; educate patients and families in rehabilitation methods.
• Educate patients and families on strategies to improve daily living skills and health.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other professionals for coordinated care.
• Participate in patient care meetings and contribute to best practices and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Proved direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation.
• Administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patient’s capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician.
• Document and record the patients’ condition and educate patients and families in an appropriate physical therapy method.
• Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve daily living skills and promote overall health.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in patient care meetings and contribute to team discussions on best practices and treatment outcomes.
