Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join our team. The role includes evaluating residents, creating treatment plans, and reassessing progress to determine service needs.

The OT will plan discharges to maximize independence and ensure safe, effective continuation of care. You will identify equipment needs, maintain thorough documentation, coordinate in-services, and pursue ongoing CE opportunities while upholding professional standards and regulatory

Qualifications

• Must have an OT degree from an accredited program.
• NBCOT certification is required.
• Active state OT license required.
• Knowledge of Functional Pathways policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Re-assess patients and caseload to determine continuation or discontinuation of services.
• Provide thorough discharge planning to maximize independence.
• Identify equipment needs for OT dept. and order equipment.
• Complete all required documentation per guidelines.

• Attend Continuing Education courses related to the position.
• Maintain professionalism and follow all regulations.

Job description

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join our team!

PRN position available with ability for flexible hours.

• Evaluate residents per MD order and establish appropriate Treatment Plans and Goals that meet the specific needs of the individual.
• Re-assess patients and caseload as needed in order to determine need for continued services or discontinuation of services based on patient progress. Carry out treatment plan as indicated.
• Provide thorough discharge planning that will allow the patient to function at a maximal level of independence in the least restrictive environment.
• Identify equipment needs of Occupational Therapy Dept. and order equipment according to company and facility policy.
• Complete all required documentation according to guidelines specified in Documentation Manual.
• Coordinate in-services for facility staff as need is determined, to ensure safe and effective carry over of Maintenance/Restorative Programs and overall call of the residents.
• Attend Continuing Education courses specific to current position.
• Maintain professionalism and follow all national/state associations regulations at all times.

Requirements:

• Must have a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Must possess a current certification from NBCOT
• Active state license required.
• Possess current working knowledge of Functional Pathways policies and procedures, clinical programs with application skills to therapy disciplines.
