Job summary

Corewell Health is hiring an Occupational Therapist at Grosse Pointe Hospital to join the Occupational Therapy team. You will evaluate and treat patients, monitor assistants, and complete all required documentation in line with department standards.

The role requires an accredited OT degree, completion of clinical internship, and an active State OT license, with BLS certification also preferred. This is a part-time position with a day shift in Grosse Pointe.

• Current State OT license.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides therapeutic services including evaluation and treatment.
• Monitors the treatment activities of OT aides and COTAs.
• Completes evaluations and plans/treats for assigned patients per standards of care.
• Completes all documentation of services per department standards.
• Maintains updated license and provides evidence of status within two weeks of updates.

Scope of Work:

In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, provides therapeutic services including evaluation, treatment, and education. Monitors the treatment activities of COTA's and aides. Completes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with the established standards of care and practice. Plans and provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice. Completes all documentation of services per department standards. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives. Maintains updated license and submits evidence of status to supervisor/manager within two weeks of receipt of new or updated license.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate from an accredited OT school.
• Successful completion of clinical internship.
• Previous clinical experience/rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Current State OT license.
• BLS certification.
