Job summary

Compleat KiDZ is a leading pediatric rehabilitation group in North Carolina, offering Occupational Therapy services to children birth to 18 years across 18 clinics. The OT role involves evaluating, treating, and discharge planning in an outpatient setting, with a focus on evidence-based pediatric care and family education.

The ideal candidate has pediatric experience, ACOTE-accredited OT training, Virginia licensure eligibility, and a collaborative, child-centered approach to therapy.

Qualifications

• 1 year of pediatric experience preferred.
• Licensed in Virginia or eligible for licensure/registration per state practices.
• Pass a background check.
• Provide evaluation, treatment, consultation, and discharge planning for children in outpatient clinic.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR.
• Communicate progress with child’s healthcare providers.
• Assess and recommend assistive technology/adaptive equipment.
• Supervise COTAs in the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Complete evaluation and treatment for pediatric patients in outpatient clinic.
• Prepare discharge plans and progress reports for families.
• Communicate with other healthcare providers via reports and calls.
• Supervise and mentor COTAs within the clinic.

Occupational Therapist (Pediatric) Requirements & Responsibilities

• 1 year of previous pediatric experience is preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education or equivalent.
• Licensed in the state of Virginia or eligible for licensure/registration per state registration practices.
• Pass a Background Check.
• Complete evaluation, treatment, consultation, and discharge planning for children in an outpatient clinic.
• Accurate documentation in EMR system.
• Detailed and thorough communication with child's healthcare providers through progress reports, phone calls, and other forms of communication.
• Assess and make recommendations regarding appropriate assistive technology and/or adaptive equipment as needed.
• Acts as a supervisor for COTAs in the clinic.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to assist patients in standing/sitting; reach with hands and arms. Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. is also required.
