Job summary

Compleat KiDZ seeks a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join a pediatric rehabilitation team in North Carolina. The role is part-time with afternoon hours, focusing on evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for children in an outpatient clinic.

Licensure in Virginia or eligibility for licensure in another state applies. New grads may apply; EMR documentation and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team are essential components of the job.

Qualifications

• 1 year of pediatric experience preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited by ACOTE.
• Licensed in Virginia or eligible for licensure per state registration practices.

Responsibilities

• Complete evaluation, treatment, consultation, and discharge planning for children in outpatient settings.
• Document accurately in the EMR system.
• Communicate progress reports with child’s healthcare providers via reports and calls.
• Assess and recommend assistive technology and/or adaptive equipment as needed.
• Act as supervisor for COTAs in the clinic.

Occupational Therapist (Pediatric) Requirements & Responsibilities

• 1 year of previous pediatric experience is preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education or equivalent.
• Licensed in the state of Virginia or eligible for licensure/registration per state registration practices.
• Pass a Background Check.
• Complete evaluation, treatment, consultation, and discharge planning for children in an outpatient clinic.
• Accurate documentation in EMR system.
• Detailed and thorough communication with child's healthcare providers through progress reports, phone calls, and other forms of communication.
• Assess and make recommendations regarding appropriate assistive technology and/or adaptive equipment as needed.
• Acts as a supervisor for COTAs in the clinic.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to assist patients in standing/sitting; reach with hands and arms. Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. is also required.
