Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Outpatient Rehab team. This PRN, day-shift role offers weekday scheduling and the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of therapists, physicians, and care coordinators.

Responsibilities include performing evaluations, developing and adjusting treatment plans, documenting progress, and communicating clearly with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Virginia.
• BLS Certification from American Heart Association required.

Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Responsibilities:

• Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts while completing all administrative tasks and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols while performing re-evaluations, according to department guidelines, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Licensure: Occupational Therapist VA License
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualification:

• Occupation Therapist (OT) experience in neuro
