Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA, is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Outpatient Rehab team. This full-time, day-shift role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with occasional weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• VA Occupational Therapist License required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies regarding evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and care teams while completing administrative tasks.
• Performs re-evaluations and adjusts treatment plans based on department guidelines.
• Selects evaluations and treatment modalities appropriate to patient diagnosis, age, and status.

Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts while completing all administrative tasks and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols while performing re-evaluations, according to department guidelines, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Licensure: Occupational Therapist VA License
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualification

• Occupation Therapist (OT) experience in neuro
