Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Rehab team. This is a full-time, day shift position, Monday–Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies regarding evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts while completing administrative tasks.
• Demonstrates competency in treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols during re-evaluations and adjusts treatment plans as needed.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group, and status while formulating treatment plans.

Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Responsibilities:

• Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts while completing all administrative tasks and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols while performing re-evaluations, according to department guidelines, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Licensure : Occupational Therapist
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualification:

• Occupation Therapist (OT) experience in the hospital setting
