The Staff Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats residents, collaborates with families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team, and maintains accurate documentation in the medical record. The OT also conducts in‑services and training for facility staff on an ongoing basis.
Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), therapy aides, and students as applicable.
Current, active, and unencumbered Occupational Therapist license in the State of California. Must maintain continuing education requirements and license in good standing at all times.
Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting. Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and assisting residents with mobility. Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and 50 pounds frequently when assisting residents. Visual acuity sufficient for documentation and resident assessment.
This position operates in a skilled nursing facility environment. Exposure to infectious diseases and healthcare-related hazards may occur. The noise level is typically low to moderate.
