Job summary

Pivot Rehabilitation is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to screen, evaluate, and treat patients across our care continuum in Port Arthur, TX. The OT will develop comprehensive treatment plans, review records, and establish measurable goals to maximize patient independence while supervising assistants and rehab staff as needed.

• Graduation from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.
• Current licensure as an OT in the practicing state.
• Excellent communication and professional interaction with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Screens, evaluates, and treats patients.
• Completes comprehensive evaluations using standard tools and procedures.
• Reviews patient records for diagnoses, history, precautions and contraindications.
• Establishes goals and treatment plans for independence.
• Supervises OTAs and rehab techs in patient care per state act.
• Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patients and team.

Qualifications

Essential Functions:

• Screens, evaluates, and treats patients
• Completes a comprehensive evaluation using appropriate evaluation and assessment tools and procedures
• Reviews patient records for current diagnoses, past medical history, precautions and contraindications
• Establishes measurable goals and develops treatment plan to move the patient toward his or her maximum level of independence and/or function
• Supervises Occupational Therapist Assistants and rehab techs in direct patient care and patient-related activities in accordance with state practice act
• Interprets and communicates evaluation findings and treatment program to patients, family, and other team members

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice
• Must have good communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to patients, patients’ family members, and staff
• Must be capable of performing the responsibilities of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations
