Job summary

Birchwood Terrace Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Burlington, MA is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. Compensation is $42-$55 per hour, with OTR/COTA professionals welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Occupational Therapist

Birchwood Terrace Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our in-house rehabilitation team in Burlington, Massachusetts.

Compensation: $42-$55 per hour

We are committed to providing high-quality, person-centered rehabilitation services that help residents and patients improve their functional independence, safety, and quality of life. Our interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to develop individualized treatment plans and meaningful rehabilitation goals based on each person's unique needs.

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
  • Consult with residents and patients to understand their individual needs, concerns, functional limitations, and rehabilitation goals.
  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and interpret evaluation findings and test results.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, physician orders, patient needs, and established standards of care.
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions to improve functional independence, safety, mobility, and quality of life.
  • Address activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, strength, coordination, cognition, balance, and other areas of occupational performance.
  • Monitor resident and patient responses to treatment and modify interventions as clinically appropriate.
  • Establish and update individualized goals based on patient progress and functional needs.
  • Educate residents, patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, adaptive techniques, safety, and strategies that promote independence.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy team members, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate quality patient care.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants in accordance with applicable regulations and professional standards.
  • Communicate changes in resident or patient condition, progress, and treatment needs to the appropriate members of the healthcare team.
  • Complete all documentation accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records related to evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, goals, and discharge planning.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations, professional standards, and facility policies.
  • Participate in required meetings and other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
Occupational Therapist Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Current knowledge of occupational therapy treatment practices, techniques, and interventions.
  • Familiarity with Net Health electronic documentation is preferred.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with residents and patients with a variety of needs, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Strong understanding of functional assessment, rehabilitation, and strategies that promote independence.
Occupational Therapist Requirements
  • Active and valid Occupational Therapy license in Massachusetts.
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Must be in good standing with all applicable regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
