Job summary

Aberjona Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Winchester, Massachusetts is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. Pay: $42–$58 per hour with a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

New graduates are welcome to apply. We provide high-quality, person-centered rehabilitation services with interdisciplinary collaboration to develop individualized plans that support residents’ independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Current and active OT license in Massachusetts in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited OT program.
• Ability to provide safe, effective and compassionate resident care.
• Ability to work with residents with varying diagnoses and functional needs.
• Familiarity with Net Health or EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' functional abilities including ADLs, mobility, strength and cognition.
• Develop and implement individualized OT treatment plans per physician orders.
• Provide interventions to improve independence, safety and quality of life.
• Address strength, coordination, balance and range of motion through therapy.
• Assist residents with ADLs and functional mobility as appropriate.
• Monitor progress and modify interventions as needed.
• Communicate progress with the rehabilitation team.
• Educate residents and families about treatment plans and safety.
• Complete evaluations, notes, progress reports and discharge documentation.
• Participate in care planning and team meetings.

Aberjona Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our in-house rehabilitation team in Winchester, Massachusetts. Pay: $42–$58 per hour

Our rehabilitation and interdisciplinary teams work collaboratively to develop individualized treatment plans based on each resident’s unique needs and goals. New graduates are welcome to apply!

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents’ functional abilities, including activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, coordination, strength, cognition, and other areas of occupational performance.
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and applicable regulations.
• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions designed to improve independence, safety, function, and quality of life.
• Provide therapeutic activities and exercises addressing strength, coordination, balance, range of motion, motor skills, and functional performance.
• Assist residents with improving independence in activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, and functional mobility as appropriate.
• Monitor resident progress and response to treatment and modify interventions as clinically appropriate.
• Communicate resident progress, changes, and recommendations with the interdisciplinary team and other members of the rehabilitation department.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, safety, adaptive techniques, and strategies to promote independence.
• Recommend and train residents in the appropriate use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
• Complete evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, discharge documentation, and other required clinical documentation accurately and timely.
• Participate in care planning, interdisciplinary team meetings, in-services, and other meetings as required.
• Follow all facility policies, professional standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.

Occupational Therapist Qualifications

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), rehabilitation center, long-term care, or healthcare setting is preferred.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, treatment techniques, and rehabilitation practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with residents with varying diagnoses, physical abilities, cognitive abilities, and functional needs.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with OTAs, PTs, PTAs, nursing staff, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Familiarity with Net Health or other electronic medical record/documentation systems is preferred.

Occupational Therapist Requirements

• Current and active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Massachusetts.
• License must be in good standing with the applicable state licensing board.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Ability to provide safe, effective, and compassionate resident care.
• Must meet all applicable employment and regulatory requirements.
