Job summary

Pate Rehabilitation in Texas is seeking a motivated, experienced Occupational Therapist to join our care team to restore functional skills and activities of daily living for our patients. You will develop goal-directed treatment plans, supervise support staff, educate patients and caregivers, and prepare for discharge while adhering to OT Practice Act.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Texas OT license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to supervise OT staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans based on evaluations and physician orders.
• Establish realistic, objective functional goals aligned with patient and discharge plans.
• Supervise Certified OT Assistants, Rehabilitation Technicians, and OT students.
• Educate patients and caregivers on OT services, procedures, and goals.
• Prepare for discharge with home visits and recommendations for equipment.
• Maintain compliance with OT Practice Act and Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans for assigned patients utilizing in-depth evaluation and physician orders
• Establish realistic, objective functional goals based on patient/caregiver goals and overall discharge plan
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, Rehabilitation Technicians, OT students, and OTA students on a routine basis
• Educate patients/caregivers on occupational therapy services, treatment procedures, and treatment goals
• Prepare for client discharge in a timely, thorough manner, including patient/caregiver education, home visit, recommendations for home modifications and equipment needs, and procurement of recommended equipment
• Maintain a working knowledge of and adherence to Occupational Therapy Practice Act and Code of Ethics
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution or B.S./M.S. degree in related field with an Occupational Therapy certification from an accredited institution
• Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Texas required
• Current CPR certification required
• Must pass all pre-employment and employment verifications
