Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Big Spring, TX seeks an Occupational Therapist within the Geriatrics and Extended Care service line of PM&R/Audiology.

The incumbent provides independent assessments, develops intervention plans, and delivers OT services across ADL, IADL, education, work, play and leisure using standardized tools and clinical judgment. Duties include maintaining patient records, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and adapting treatments to patient needs.

Qualifications

• OT candidates must meet ACOTE/education requirements and licensure.
• Eligibility for EDRP and VA policy adherence are required.
• Experience with standard OT assessments and treatment planning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent OT assessments and intervention planning across ADL/IADL, education, work, and leisure.
• Maintain patient records per VA policies and JCO standards.
• Collaborate with PM&R/Audiology and geriatrics teams to coordinate care.
• Adapt treatments to individual patient needs and monitor progress.
