Job summary

Bay Marina Post Acute is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide direct patient care and oversee OT assistants, contributing to geriatric rehabilitation and complex conditions. You will assess patients, develop treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with physicians and families to optimize outcomes.

The role emphasizes adherence to regulatory requirements, quality improvement, and ongoing professional development within an interdisciplinary team, with a $5,000 sign-on

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Occupational Therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of physical modalities used in Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge of prosthetic/orthotic devices, ambulatory aids, assistive and resistive devices.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Aids in restoration of independent function; evaluates and treats patients; communicates with families, physicians and health team; documents services.
• Supervises OT assistants and aides according to facility policy and state/federal requirements.
• Communicates patient progress and plans with supervisor and health team; educates families and nursing staff.
• Interviews patients and families about prior functioning and expectations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of resources for problem-solving and best practice.
• Assesses and issues ADL equipment and durable medical equipment to promote independence in ADLs.
• Writes accurate, complete documentation per regulatory and billing requirements.
• Contributes to professional development and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Maintains safety and compliance with facility procedures and policies.
