Job summary

Oakwood Healthcare Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide direct patient care and coordination within the therapy department. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and document progress in the medical record, while supervising assistants and supporting family education.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, adherence to regulatory requirements, and ongoing professional development. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Occupational Therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of physical modalities used in OT.
• Knowledge of prosthetic/orthotic devices and assistive aids.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with a wide range of patients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support activities for therapy outcomes.
• Evaluate and treat patients; document services in the medical record.
• Supervise COTAs/aides in direct patient care per policy and regulations.
• Communicate patient progress with supervisor and health team.
• Instruct families and nursing staff on follow-up programs.
• Prepare for and participate in rehab team conferences and care planning.
