Job summary

Big Stone Staffing, a division of Big Stone Therapies, is seeking an Occupational Therapist for travel assignments across LTC/SNF, outpatient and related settings. The role involves supervising assistants, evaluating patients and developing rehab plans, with a focus on helping patients regain daily living skills.

The position offers 13-week contracts with guaranteed 32 hours, up to 40 hours per week, start date 10/01/2025, and potential travel lodging assistance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved OT program with at least a bachelor’s degree.
• Valid state OT license or eligibility for licensure.
• CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Background check clearance required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or outpatient settings preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Supervise OT Assistants and/or Therapy Aides as per laws and regulations.
• Evaluate patients starting occupational therapy.
• Facilitate rehabilitation with treatment plans.
• Help patients develop or regain abilities for daily activities.
• Review progress and adapt treatment accordingly.
• Provide home exercise programs and recommend equipment.
• Perform administrative tasks and document patient records.
• Maintain confidentiality of records per HIPAA.

We offer 13-week travel contracts and provide assistance to find housing, navigating licensure for each state, and being the liaison between you and the facility. Overview

• Setting: LTC/SNF
• Guarantee: 32-hours, scheduled up to 40 hours
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm – No weekends, holidays or call
• Start Date: 10/01/2025
• Length: 13-26 weeks

Responsibilities

• Providing supervision for Occupational Therapy Assistants and/or Therapy Aides as per state and federal laws and/or regulations
• Evaluating patients starting occupational therapy
• Facilitating rehabilitation of patients by providing treatment and plans
• Helping patients develop or regain physical or mental abilities allowing them to take part in everyday activities based on their unique circumstances
• Reviewing the patient’s progress and adapting the treatment accordingly
• Assuring continuation of therapeutic plan by providing home exercise programs, along with recommending and/or providing assistive equipment
• Performing administrative tasks such as keeping records, writing reports and making telephone calls
• Authenticating, preparing, and submitting of documentation, ensuring confidentiality of all records, per HIPAA guidelines

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy, with a minimum of a bachelor's degree
• Valid state Occupational Therapist License or eligibility for licensure
• CPR Certification
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in skilled nursing and/or outpatient settings preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply
