Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited program of occupational therapy.
• Current State Board of Occupational Therapy licensure.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient evaluations by establishing an occupational profile and collaborating with the patient to set goals.
• Establishes an individualized plan of care and selects therapeutic interventions.
• Conducts ongoing reassessment of the patient and their response to treatment.
• Initiates and manages the discharge plan beginning at the first visit and continuing throughout treatment.
• Supervises and delegates to ancillary staff and students.
• Completes legible, accurate documentation within the established timeframe.
• Communicates with patient, family, caregivers, and health-care team to promote care.
• Provides education to meet patient and family educational needs.
• Participates in professional growth and development through educational programs.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Maintains a safe environment and adheres to safety standards.
• Functions within scope of practice as defined by the state’s act.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Education

Graduated from an accredited program of occupational therapy

Licensed by the State Board of Occupational Therapy

BLS certification

NBCOT certification (preferred)
