Job summary

Ahava Therapy Services in Kingsport, TN is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to assess, plan, and implement patient-centered treatment programs across our care settings.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, document progress, and participate in care conferences while maintaining HIPAA compliance and achieving meaningful functional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Active OT license in the state of practice.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical information and evaluate its impact on assessment and treatment.
• Conduct comprehensive functional assessments using standardized procedures.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with functional goals.
• Document evaluations, daily treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Revise treatment plans based on patient performance and progress.
• Supervise and guide therapy assistants, ensuring proper treatment techniques.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers about exercises and procedures.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to maximize outcomes.
• Assist with discharge planning and knowledge of community resources.
• Participate in care conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clinical competence through continuing education.
• Adhere to HIPAA and payer guidelines.
