Job summary

The Occupational Therapist role at MaineHealth Behavioral Health organizes and conducts prescribed skilled therapy programs to help individuals whose function is impaired by illness, injury, disability, or aging to achieve optimum functioning and maintain health.

Required qualifications include graduation from an AOTA-accredited OT program, a current state license, BLS certification, and ideally one year of hospital or related experience; a driver’s license and vehicle may be needed for home

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program.
  • License/Certifications: Current state license as an Occupational Therapist; BLS certification required or within 30 days.
  • Experience: One year of hospital/long-term care/home/outpatient Occupational Therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs.
  • Apply purposeful, goal-directed activity to improve function and prevent disability.

Summary:
The Occupational Therapist role organizes and conducts prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability or the aging process to achieve the optimum functioning, to prevent disability, and to maintain health.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program required.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
  3. Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system or outpatient Occupational Therapy department preferred.

The pay range for this position is $77,147.20to $104,353.60per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
