Job summary

MaineHealth seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patient care under licensed OT guidance. You will implement treatment plans, monitor responses, and adjust approaches while focusing on mobility, motor and cognitive skills across diverse patient needs.

This role emphasizes home care delivery where applicable and requires a current OTA license and BLS certification. We value reliable clinicians with vehicle access for community-based visits and a commitment to compassionate care

Qualifications

  • OTA program completed at an AOTA accredited school.
  • Current state license as Occupational Therapy Assistant or compliant with state act.
  • BLS certification obtained or to be obtained within 30 days of start.
  • Valid driver's license with access to a vehicle for home care work.

Responsibilities

  • Administers patient treatment plans under OT direction.
  • Assesses patient response and progress to treatment.
  • Modifies treatment as appropriate within guidelines.
  • Focus areas include mobility, motor, sensory, perceptual/cognitive, social, developmental and functional skills.

Summary:
Under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant role administers patient treatment plans, assesses patient response, and modifies treatment as appropriate within established guidelines. Emphasis is on but not limited to mobility, motor, sensory, perceptual/cognitive, social, developmental, and functional skills.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
  3. Experience: One year of clinical experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $25.24to $34.16 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
