Job summary

The Gardens at Aldersgate in Topeka, KS is seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, and to help them function at their maximum capability in the community. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized therapy plans and home programs.

Responsibilities include evaluations, treatment administration, record-keeping, and collaboration with family members to ensure safe transfers and energy-conservation techniques.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OT program with eligibility for licensure.
• Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Proficiency with applicable state and federal OT standards.

Responsibilities

• Administers and writes evaluations of assigned patients per departmental standards.
• Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
• Directs support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals.
• Administers treatment programs to increase functioning.
• Designs individualized therapy for adults with learning disabilities.
• Provides prevention therapy and instructions on energy conservation and safety.
• Develops home programs and trains patients or families.
• Participates in patient support groups with the team.
