Job summary

Driftwood Healthcare Center-Santa Cruz is hiring an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA). The role administers treatment to residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal concerns and works within an established care plan.

A CA OTA license is required and at least 1 year of clinical experience is preferred; new graduates are welcome. The facility offers benefits, PTO, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Maintains patient confidentiality and participates in interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients per plan of care.
• Performs tests/measurements for strength, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment and collaborates with OT/PT as needed.
• Assists with home assessments to support safe discharge to home environments.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
