Job summary

Fremont Healthcare Center in Fremont, CA is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA). The OTA provides treatment to residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues, following an established plan of care.

The role includes participation in an interdisciplinary team, conducting assessments, and assisting patients with therapy tools, with a sign-on bonus and PTO and referral bonuses.

New graduates welcomed; CA license required; one year of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new grads welcome.
• Current California OT Assistant license

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Assesses muscle strength, range of motion, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments to ensure safe discharge with OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
