Fruitvale Healthcare Center is hiring an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA). We value our employees and provide a professional, supportive work environment focused on resident well-being.

The OTA administers treatments for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues, performs strength/ROM tests, and supports an interdisciplinary care team. California OTA licensure is required; 1 year of clinical experience is preferred, new graduates welcomed. A sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in California.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments to ensure safe discharge with OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
