Responsibilities

• Assisting the Occupational Therapist in the implementation of treatment intervention
• Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and function.
• Providing training to individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, and documenting results of the training
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Supporting individuals' plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the multidisciplinary team members as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy interventions
• Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics, and/or home health
• One year preferred; new grads encouraged to apply
• Ability to lift 50 pounds; moving, lifting, or transferring patients which may involve lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
• Physical requirements include fine motor skills, visual acuity, walking/standing for extended periods, pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently
• A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on specific location policy, local and state regulations
