Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by the AOTA.
• Current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable).

SNF experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of an OTR, following state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab.
• Document patient participation and progress accurately and timely, obtaining co-signature of the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications, and discharges.
• Assist with documentation and other requirements as per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling patients.
• Complete billing logs and bill ethically and accurately.
• Cover other therapists’ caseloads during absence.
• Supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, staff, patients, and families.
• Provide in-service education on patient care or occupational therapy services.
• Comply with all policies, procedures, confidentiality, and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to hours, and project professionalism.
• Meet productivity requirements and complete reports timely.
• Foster a positive work atmosphere.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
