Job summary

Almaden Health and Rehabilitation Center in San Jose, CA is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate and treat residents within a team-based, regulated setting. You will plan and administer therapy, perform tests, and participate in an interdisciplinary team to support safe discharge planning.

Licensed OT in California with a BS/MS/OTD is required; one year of clinical experience is preferred, though new graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• California OT license required.
• Degree in Occupational Therapy (BS, MS, or DPT/OTD).
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and administers therapy to residents with neuromuscular/musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers and interprets tests for muscle strength, ROM, and coordination.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care and maintains records.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary clinical team.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for patient needs.
• Assists in home assessments for safe discharge when appropriate.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed!
• Current license to practice Therapy Occupational Therapy Issued by California.
