Job summary

Liberty Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant for inpatient rehabilitation on a PRN basis. Under the supervision of an OTR/L, you will implement individualized treatment plans to help patients regain function and independence.

The role requires current state licensure, BLS/CPR, and the ability to lift and mobilize patients. We value teamwork, ongoing learning, and commitment to high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Current state licensure/certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Ability to lift/move patients and participate in vigorous activity.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of the OTR/L, implements OT programs and adapts treatments to patient needs.
  • Identifies precautions based on injury/diagnosis and follows safety guidelines.
  • Provides treatment to diverse patient populations and documents per policy.
  • Monitors progress toward goals and suggests changes to the OTR/L as needed.
  • Communicates treatment orders with the care team.

How you\'ll contribute



  • Under guidance of supervising OTR/L: Acquires pertinent information and implements comprehensive program using varied techniques and treatment activities; reviews and modifies treatment in response to changing patient needs; identifies equipment and discharge needs.

  • Is aware of patient injury/diagnosis and takes all necessary precautions for observing indications and contradictions.

  • Provides treatment to diverse diagnostic populations and completes supporting documentation according to hospital policy and State Practice Act.

  • Observes treatment affect, accomplishment of short and long term goals and recommends change to the supervising OTR/L, if needed.

  • Communicates and collaborates with support personnel regarding treatment orders as directed by the supervising OTR/L.

What we\'re looking for


Applicants should have a current state licensure/certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. Additional requirements include:



  • Previous experience in the care of patients preferred.

  • Current BLS/CPR.

  • Full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all constituents (patients, families, peers, and other healthcare team members)

  • Possess near vision acuity for accurate reading of equipment and recording in patient medical record

  • Must be physically able to lift, support and move patients.
