Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective occupational therapy interventions under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and daily living activities for residents.
  • Assist residents in overcoming challenges with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Empower residents to regain independence and improve their overall quality of life.
  • Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate residents and families on therapeutic techniques for improved independence and safety.
  • Collaborate with the care team—including OTs, nurses, physical therapists, and speech therapists—for comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in care planning meetings to share insights and contribute to the resident’s progress.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with healthcare regulations.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for residents receiving therapy.
