Occupational Therapist Aide

Our goal is to help residents regain independence in a friendly environment with nutritionally enhanced meals. We are currently recruiting an Occupational Therapist Aide to join our team.

Purpose of this position

The purpose of this position is to treat and document care for residents with impaired ability to perform at an independent level due to disease processes under the supervision of an occupational therapist; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as required.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Follow physicians' orders for resident care and directions of the occupational therapist.
2. Provide treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest possible level of function within their physical abilities.
3. Provide preventative measures and adaptive equipment to prevent decline in residents' function.
4. Maintain accurate resident reports as required by regulatory agencies and third-party payers.
5. Observe infection control procedures.
6. Ensure resident safety under supervision.
7. Work cooperatively with residents, families, staff, physicians, and other providers.
8. Follow all facility policies, safety policies, and the employee handbook guidelines.
9. Adhere to Residents' Rights policies and the Corporate Compliance Program.
10. Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
11. Present a professional appearance and be dependable and punctual.
12. Accept duties cooperatively and perform all duties effectively and professionally.
13. Support and respect colleagues and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have excellent communication skills, the ability to analyze and interpret medical information, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents and healthcare professionals. An Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program is required.
