Job summary

Visiting Rehab and Nursing Services in Braintree, MA seeks a compassionate Per Diem Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide home-based OT services. You’ll work under an OT, promoting independence and safety during visits in patients’ homes.

Requirements include MA COTA license, 1 year of clinical experience, and afternoon availability. Mileage and licensure reimbursements are provided within a supportive clinical team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.
• Train patients in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Train patients in the use of adaptive equipment under supervision.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Therapist.
• Collaborate with the care team including therapists and nurses.
• Complete accurate electronic documentation.

Your Role as a Home Care Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA):

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with VRNS, you’ll provide skilled occupational therapy services directly in patients’ homes under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You’ll work closely with patients and their care teams to promote functional independence, safety, and quality of life. Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction of an Occupational Therapist
• Training patients in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
• Recommending and training patients in the use of appropriate adaptive equipment under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
• Monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Collaborating with Occupational Therapists, physical therapists, nurses, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and other members of the care team
• Completing accurate and timely electronic documentation
